LA-BASED writer of scripts, poetry, standup, speeches,
to-do lists…
The product of Jamaican and Ghanaian parents, Ama Anane grew up in two of the wildest places on earth: Papua New Guinea and Las Vegas. She writes comedic dramas about women who feel like outsiders inside of their own families. Her characters are often animated by interracial relationships, and she tackles themes inspired by her experience running classrooms in prisons and public schools; running a community-based nonprofit; and running after her wife and kids. She’s a graduate of Emerson College and Columbia University.
